Rain Random

Rain Random is a two-minute music composition with video images. The images are of rain. The piece is very cold and wet. Very empty. Like waiting for a bus on a street corner where there is no bus shelter without a raincoat during a huge rainstorm and everything around you just gets more blurred and dismal. More wet. More soaked. Please enjoy Rain Random.

This is lovely piece. It's appeal should increase as we find the summer months baring down on us. What program do you use to edit your films. My wee videos productions border on torture

Thanks to both of you.

I edit video with a program called Video Wave - which is part of Roxio Creator, a whole suite of not terribly good, but workable programs. Video Wave does a lot of things I haven't tried yet and it's much quicker and more reliable now that I have upgraded with a faster processor, more RAM and faster disk access.

But if you're actually going to spend money on a video editor you might look at Adobe Premiere Elements. I should probably do the same thing.

Adobe Premiere Elements 7 is a great little program! You can pick it up for under $100 from a reputable dealer. Like all Adobe products you can get a free demo download from the Adobe website. A couple of additional effects on the rain would do wonders. Is that all sampled or were the real rain and stormy effects recorded?

This was the first time I've used video effects of any sort, an exploration now that I seem to grasp the basics of transistions.

There are just four different levels of blur. A continuous change would have been nicer - but the music seemed to line up with the changes in blur, so I left it. It's easy for me to be happy with the results when I have no real idea what I intended in the first place.

There is just one 35" shot of rain - used 3 times. A parking lot in Long Beach during one of our few storms in February. The first time it plays is pretty much as recorded.

Nice one! Except it bummed me out a little, reminding me how I'm spending another "summer" in England.

You said it twice Scott. I believed you the first time. Good vacation?

Thanks to everyone who posted. My three readers. In this case three equals five.
