I find doodling to be extremely purposeful, despite definitions like, "scribble absentmindedly" and the origin of the word, "early 17th cent.(originally as a noun denoting a fool, later as a verb in the sense [make a fool of, cheat] ): from Low German dudeltopf, dudeldopp ‘simpleton.’ "
Doodling sets your mind free and allows for subconscious expression. As healthy as a dream.
You are a fine doodler Mr. Ocker. I wonder about your obsession with testicles but you wield a gracefully flowing ball point. ;o)
Thanks, RZ. Over the years I've gained much pleasure from my testicles. Which of my other body parts would you prefer that I discuss?
I like the origin of the word doodle that you give. Does that mean that doodling is related to playing the bagpipes? (Dudelsack).
And can we find a good way of relating bagpipes to testicles? They seem to have a lot of morphology in common.

Perhaps, though it's easier to relate testicles to trombones, since the sack is under the butt.
